NEW MINISTERS GO TO MARKET
PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (January 19, 2012) – Participants headed to Caribbean Marketplace always anticipate hearing of new tourism products, but an extra buzz has been created by the imminent arrival of two new ministers of tourism following government changes in the important destinations of Saint Lucia and Jamaica.
Saint Lucia’s new Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries, Lorne Theophilus, will lead a strong delegation from the Eastern Caribbean nation, while Dr. Wykeham McNeill, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, will spearhead Jamaica’s contingent to the trade show.
Minister Theophilus is an attorney-at-law while Minister McNeil is a Cuba-trained physician and long-standing parliamentarian. Dr. McNeill is no stranger to the tourism portfolio, having served in the industry for many years, including as Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism.
